How to Improve Ankle Alignment in Demi forBetter Balance & Turns (without calf raises!)What is it about the ankles that is so hard to keep them aligned when trying to balance ondemi? The minute those heels go up, the ankles seem to go off (mainly to the outside) taking theweight with them on to the little toes aka turns over!Calf raises are great for building calf muscles but not creating the alignment needed tobalance and turn..THAT alignment asks the hip, knees and 2nd toes to be plump straight whilst also fluid andadaptable to the ever changing dynamics of micro weight shift...Straight, but fluid and adaptable...And THAT needs to be experienced as a feeling first by the whole leg ankle and foot for it tobe reproduced in demi, balance and turns etc...Feeling first...That is the only way I know to create true lasting change in ability...When a dancer has the feeling already in their bodies of what the teacher is asking how welldo you think corrections start to work?Well that's what we will be working on today...Getting the feeling of alignment and strength and adaptability in the ankle without calf raisesor any other exercises that promise an outcome of alignment and strength without havinghad those qualities actually experienced first in technique...So how to?First up check you current alignment, demi height and balance then…
